Surroundings Haute-Provence: an inspiring setting

The monastery is situated 6 kilometers from Moustiers-Ste-Marie, which is considered one of the most beautiful villages of France. Moustiers was founded in the fifth century and is renowned for its faïences pottery. The village is a delightful mosaic of shaded squares, bridges that span waterfalls, artist studios and shops.

We are in the heart of the regional Parc Verdon, also known for France's Grand Canyon, an opulent feast for hikers! Nearby is the turquoise Lac de Ste-Croix which offers canoeing, kayaking, sailing, and swimming. Closer still is the first century village of Riez-la-Romaine and its bustling twice weekly markets and animated evenings. Moreover, throughout the summer the region hosts lively summer festivals.
